Hey guys,

I have been struggling in some positional shooting and shooting in general with my eye glasses. I have an Astigmatism situation and contact lenses are just not comfortable. I have tried them all. In the dust and dirt. It just doesn't work very well. I struggle with the glasses floating down and also looking through the frame when my head is tilted in the wrong direction.

My question is, have any of you found a solution? Has anyone found a really good prescriptin fit set of eye glasses that work great for shooting rifles? What should I look for? What lenses are you using? etc.

Really appreciate your input. I searched some threads here on snipers hide, but it was all pretty old. I would think with the huge growth in PRS style shooting someone else has came across this issue.

Thanks,

NB

I don't know how much this will help, but I got a set of "active sports" prescription glasses made for me a little while ago. They have plastic frames and look like sunglasses, but have rubber on the nose and at the end of the ear pieces. This really helps keep them in the same spot all of the time. They also came with a strap that you can connect to the ends of the ear pieces, but I haven't felt the need for it.

for "PRS" style shooting, i would just get a good set of prescription safety glasses at your optometrist, and get one of those wrap around eye glass lanyards if they are shifting on you.

Have you tried Accuview contact lenses for Astigmatism? I've been using them for years. I can't seem to find any other contact lenses that I really like. Other than that I doubt you're looking to win a fashion contest while shooting. Look for a second of RecSpecs athletic sunglasses / transition lenses, etc. Many styles & colors to choose from & they'll take more lickins than a Timex.

Thanks for the input guys!

I ended up stopping by the Oakley Rx Dealer in town today. They set me up. Really excited to get the glasses. Ill post a picture of them when I get them in my hands. Great coverage, hold on my face nicely, and I don't think I will have any issues with the frames getting in the way. Really big lenses. The optomitrist had me bring my gun in and lay prone. Then marked the centers from the prone position. Should work really well.

Thanks you!

I use Oakley CrossHair 2.0

In fact just ordered a new set last week as I had a eye doctor visit and they upped my prescription a bit.
