so i cannot find a straight pressure switch for my surfire g2 in the length i need unless i want to spend 35 bucks.

i though about buying a curly pressure switch and splicing it and cutting it to size and then soldering the wires back to geather and sealing it off with a rubber spray or plasticoat

would this work or should i just spend the stupid 35-40 bucks on the thing ?

Re: pressure switch splicing, need help

Your call on the money, but if you're going to splice it, seal it off with some heat-shrink tubing. Radio Shack stores carry a variety of sizes, as do other stores which stock electrical supplies. You don't need a heat gun to shrink it - a propane lighter will do fine.

i splice and solder then heat shrink every connection on my truck. i will use liquid electrical tape if needed and there are heat shrink tubes available with a "gel" inside that seals out all water. i twist the wires, solder, (put the heat shrink on before this step, lol) then shrink and use the liquid tape if im really worried.

but if your light fails at a time your life might also, spend the $35. your family as well as yourself will not regret the $$
