Just like the title says. I am trying to get a rough estimate on the buying price of a used remington 700 police and VX-3 4.5-14x40mm scope. It has leopold base and rings, as well as a harris bipod. It has been shot, but is not abused. Thanks in advance for any answers!!

I bought a 700 PSS back in 1999. Included the rifle, harris bipod, Leupold scope w/Butler Creek caps and Pelican hardcase. This is the same setup you see on the RemingtonLE website. Cost was $1500 back then and from a dealer from MA.

It appears as if you are describing the base Leupold 4.5X14 scope. I have seen several of those sell in the $400 range. as low as $350 and as high as $450.
The PSS is a great rifle. But unless you are on this forum it is not a well sought after rifle. Too heavy for most shooters. I couldn't see myself putting over $600 in that rifle. And it better be in good shape to draw $600.
So IMO a decent deal on this rig is about $1,000. Just an opinion. But I wouldn't go much over $1,000.
Personally I would never consider paying 10% off retail for any used rifle. Nor would I consider paying 20% off new price. That is too close-I would just buy new. But as you state-who's retail?? Tom.

HOGGHEAD pretty much nailed it. It also depends on which Harris bipod and which Leupold base and rings. Are the base and rings Mark 4 or are they cheap Leupold?

Thanks guys. I just discovered this forum, and I've been trying to soak up a lot of information.
To the questions above, he said it is a "harris low bipod," and I think it is the cheap leopold base and rings (since he doesn't say otherwise).
