Primal Rights Predator Management - Episode 3

He blamed his miss on the wind unexpectedly picking up by an additional 7mph.

The difference in wind hold at 155 yards between 10mph and 17mph can't be more than .2 Mils with the caliber he is shooting.

What is .2 Mils at 155 yards?

Still think it was the fault of the wind?

It's still my fault... so does it actually make a difference? I suppose in order for you to get your jab in there, I need to have pulled it... right?

But if you must know, as I said... I estimated 100yds, when it was 150yds. ... and YES, the wind for the condition at 150yds is .7mils... rather than the .2mils I was holding. A difference of a half a mil. Then consider a coyote's neck being about 4-5"... and it damn well was the reason for the miss. That bullet went EXACTLY where it should have with a .2 mil hold.

What is half a mil at 150yds?

Right... AS I SAID in the video... I misjudged the yardage and the wind. Simple math proves it. ... or if you like, you go tell all your friends that I shanked it. I could care less.

It wasn't a jab. It was analysis. As marksmen, we need to know. Thanks for being honest.

You were there. I wasn't. If you say it's the fault of the wind, then so be it. No offense intended.

Fair enough.

For what it's worth, I enjoyed watching it as I know nothing about predator calling.

Edited to add: BTW, .7 Mils at 150 yards? Remind me to get you some higher BC bullets.?

Higher BC means higher weight, generally speaking. The bigger, higher bc bullets generally tear up fur. I save fur, so that is quite important too. I'd love a space-aged 50gr .22cal bullet with a .500 G1. :)

An 18mph wind is still an 18mph wind. Even my 6.5CM barrel running 123Amax at 2900fps has .5mils of drift at 150yds in an 18mph wind.
