I just bought a Primary Arms GLX-6X24X50F with Athena reticle. While checking out the turrets I found the elevation would only spin up to 8 mils on the dial before it would stop. The manual says that it should turn 4 rotations. Do I need to set the elevation Auto Lock and Return-to-Zero downward below the factory set position (like it says in the manual)? I will be mounting this scope on my 308 RPR which has a 20 moa rail so I believe I will have to do this anyway. Any help would be appreciated.

I will have to check the wording in the manual. Your MIL turrets will not have 4 turns. It gets checked on our US QC line so it might be off from center.

When you go to dial it in I would loosen the zero stop and let it go all the way to the bottom. I would crank it 5.8mils (58 clicks) down and start from there to find zero. Once there just slide the zero stop up until it stops, tighten it down and put the cap back on at zero. Should be good to go from there. We tried hard to make a system that is easy to setup!

Thanks for the reply. Well, hopefully I didn't screw things up. (I did this before I read your reply) I went ahead and adjusted the turret cap seat clockwise to the bottom of travel, slid the Return-to-Zero sleeve assembly up and tightened the three screws. I then re-installed the cap at the zero position and tightened the three screws. Will there be a problem with bottoming out the turret like I did? Do think I should back it back off? And if so...how many clicks? Sorry for all the questions. This scope is a whole lot different than my PA 1-6X24.
