PRIME Ammo Out of Stock?

I like all the compliments on their communication, I wonder why it stopped. I believe they would hold on to their customers much better if they posted updates on what is going on (obviously leaving out any confidential details) on their website so people don't just see a website with nothing in stock every time they check. No need to get into details but at least updates on when and if they expect more stock.

Saying that they have told people via previous customers on a forum referencing private conversations is not good enough. I think the big picture is economics and capitalism- this is great for their competition, unfortunately.

Boo, I'm down to my last 20 rds of 6.5CM. I'm hoping this debacle is not going to result in an increase of cost of Prime ammo. It's an inelastic product for me, I gotsta have my Prime.

In today's internet world, I would figure the company would care about damage to their brand from loyal customers in the dark for so long. Not how I would run a business, but hey, they didn't call me and ask my opinion. I sent them an email 4 months ago, and they responded with 'Watch the website to tell you when stock is back'. Last email has gone unanswered.

Either way, i don't care anymore, - wastes time. I've moved on to a different ammo provider. The market has options, fortunately my gun is not that picky. [Out]

I just tried some Federal GMM 130 grain. I believe the bullet is made by Berger and is an OTM type similar to the PRIME. I didn't have access to a chrono but it was DAMN close to the same as PRIME from an elevation perspective. MV on the box was very similar to PRIME so it doesn't surprise me. I only tried to 500 yards but it worked pretty nice. Was also $2.50/box cheaper than PRIME.

Will chrono next chance I get to see what ES/SD looks like

Not sure anybody is "screwing" anybody.

It's a risk Prime took to sole source from RUAG, whereas RUAG distributes to many suppliers. RUAG is in a better negotiating position.

The Prime ammo I have used has performed very well, I don't like that I can't buy any more, but there are similarly priced competitors with similar performance. It's just how it is.

I’m looking for alternative sources as well. I was all in with 6mm CM Federal 105 Berger’s. All of a sudden supply has dried up. Can’t find it anywhere. Tried Copper Creek but having issues with blown primers. Hornady 108s are pretty good and are cheap and everywhere. Does anyone know what’s up with Federal or is the demand that high

If its like other FGMM offerings, they run it in batches every so many months. Sometimes the supply dries up right before the next run, sometimes it gets cleaned out almost immediately. One of those things that it's best to buy as much as you can when you can get it if it's what you like to shoot.

In agreement with this....NRA (Life Member, for what it’s worth) lost a ton of my respect when they locked out USCCA from their Conventions quite simply because they came out with their own self defense insurance. It showed me exactly where they put their main interest in certain ways. It’s not the total definer but it was low IMHO. I watched the video that was recently on PRIME site describing what’s going on in simple terms, but, it’s definitely not simple. Hate hearing that’s going on to a good intent.
