Can you use a uniformer to clean your primer pockets? Reason I ask is after you use it the first time, wouldn't that hole already be at the correct depth then the cutting blade only removes crud? I am using an RCBS large primer pocket brush and it kinda sucks, so I'm debating on getting a different tool

I use the brush before I put it in the SS tumbler but I do uniform the pockets on the trim mate with no issue.
Yes the uniformer is fine for this, but if you use the stainless media the primer pockets will be spotless after tumbling anyway.
I uniform then use the brush after firing, it speeds up the tumbling time. and yes the pockets get really spotless.
thank you fellas for the feedback. The RCBS brush has those metal bristles which actually have been bending and falling out sadly. I vibrate tumble and then brush, but think I will give uniforming a try.
I should have, I have to run to HD today and will see if they have a brush or something I could work with, the LGS here are $$$ and only one near me carries some reloading equipt…
RCBS makes the primer pocket brushes, and they are usually in stock most places.
The uniformer is not a one time use tool pr case, because if you do uniform your primer pockets to get consistent depth it will after a few firings have become inconsistent again, the primer pockets are affected by brass flow just as the rest of the case.
This problem is most apparent the few first firings before the brass gets work hardened.
I use 21 st century shooting uniformers that i set up for each caliber i reload, using it with a power tool for a clean up cut after the depth is set does not give any problems, i do only use one type of brass for each caliber though.
It will of course also clean any remaining crud out of your pockets, but i tumble in SS media so the pockets gets cleaned.
Besides i don't like crudding up my cutters, new carbide inserts are'nt cheap.
