May b a dumb question, probably already answered but kind find on search. Any significant difference between CCI250 (Magnum Large Rifle) or Federal 210 for 6.5 Cm or 6xc ? Reason I ask is bc I have a bunch of CCIs. Thx
What kind of brass are you using? The lapua brass I have been using requires small rifle primers.
I have been using cci and my buddy has been using federal. Same ones you are questioning but in small rifle. We reload together, with otherwise almost identical stuff. No noticeable difference.
Not sure of the difference between CCI and Federal. I do know from experience though that there isn’t really any difference between federal 210 and the 210m’s. I would imagine that there is a difference between federal and CCI though.
Well, the Cci 250 is a LRM primer and the fed 210 is a LR primer. I assume you mean 250 vs 215?
It’s widely accepted that Cci has a harder cup material while fed is a hotter primer. I’ve personally had ignition issues with cci primers in subzero temps in ultra magnum calibers, and fed primers fixed the problem. Pretty much a worse case scenario for primers but I prefer cci in most other applications
