I have been having issues with 223 polymer mags accuracy international for some reason after you use them a few times then it's like the feed lips that hold the shells wear out they just shoot all your shells out the top when you can't even push feed load out of your bolt gun anymore . Is this something that happens a lot or did I get a bad batch of mags?

I know I can see the wear on mine like youre talking about but its just aesthetic at this point. I havent had them squirt out rounds yet.

Are you inserting the case head first at the front and then sliding them to the rear or are you just jamming them straight down through the top? I can force mine in through the top but I have only done it a couple of times, I feel it would lead to the issues youre describing at an advanced rate.

No I am feeding them in the mag correctly. Base first push down then slide under lips. I might have 500 rounds through this mag.

Looks like whatever they glued the mag together with gave way. It splits in the seem when you put shells in. This widening the feel lips that are supposed to hold the shells in. Manufacturing defect.

Ah, the splitting down the vertical seam we have had issues with, my cousin had one damn near split in two. A couple wraps of duct tape made it semi serviceable with a half packed mag but the full 10 was a no go. I have been fortunate to not have that issue. Get yourself an accurate mag and be done with the plastic. Its what Im going to do when mine eventually shit the bed.

Never had .223 AI mags personally but there's a reason for that. I did a lot of searching and the issue you're describing is a known problem, many people have had shit luck with the plastic AI Mags.
When I built my .223 I went with AccurateMag .223 mags because they had solid reviews. They are more expensive but have been running awesome for the last 1500 rounds per mag.

So I have 6 of these mags and have put almost 10,000 rounds through them. I have had 2 problems and have been able to fix both problems with little effort.

    1. Seam splits open at the top. Fix is to pry the seam open as far as you can, fill gap with super glue, clamp seam shut in a vise or c-clamp, and then wipe off excess glue.
    2. The polymer feed lips don't wear out they simply exhibit strain over time that bends them too wide to properly hold rounds. Fix is to disassemble mags, bring 1" of water to boil, insert mag body upside down in boiling water for 1 minute, remove mag and bend the now soft polymer lips inwards just slightly using needle nose pliers or whatever, then stick the mag in cool water to re harden the polymer. Try to bend the feed lips at the base of the lip where it leaves the mag body.

I have tried the new Ruger .223 mags, and the MDT mags. I still prefer the AI mags.

This is a several years old concern. Older ones worked, newer ones suck. They have a very high fail rate. I have a newer one that is working, but I haven't ran it hard yet. I switched to accurate mag.
