I went to town and picked up a new rig today, my fiance kept telling me she wanted her own gun to shoot. So with the economy the way it is, and not being sure she would keep alot of intrest I opted to get her a colt .22 AR. I must admit that its quite the shooter with the iron sights and so is she. Anyhow I wanted to take the the rear sight off and mount some glass on it for her, I took the glass off one of my ar builds and mounted it on the .22 after removing the rear sight, Looked through it and had no trouble even though the front a2 sight was clearly high enough to be in the way. I went from 3x all the way to 12x and never could see the front sight post. So here is the question, Am I going to see it if I put a 1x-4x on it? I remember reading somewhere that on low powered glass you might see the end of the barrel, but didnt know if it would be the same with an a2 front sight.
