You have to set the headspace and check with gauges.

@redneckbmxer24 is correct. Any barrel nut prefit requires you to set headspace. However, it’s still a DIY solution vs paying a smith to headspace a barrel. Also, the Savage small shank prefits fit Rem 700 clones as well

Not all 700 clones use the Savage thread pitch and diameter.
Origin, Solus, ARC, yes.

The rest of them, I'm not for sure.

I do know the Kauger actions use standard Rem thread pitch and diameter, with a coned breech.
