Suppressors PRS guys, what cans do you run?

This is with the ultra 7 correct? Can I ask, are you able to shoot without ear pro comfortably?

I hope JLR answers, but when I shoot 6.5 through the Ultra 7 .30 can, I do not think it is hearing safe without earpro. .223 through the same can is borderline

ultimately, all these loads are supersonic so you will get the "crack" which hurts, the sound at the can seems to be fine

Anyone have experience running an Omega with the Dead Air KeyMo brake/adapter? The DA mounting system seems like a better design than the ASR. Just wondering if that might be worth the upgrade.

I run a SAS Barricade, and I have a Resistor MX in 6.5 being made currently.
Barricade is great for the size. 6"
Want something a little bigger to really drop the DB level down.

I also have a DA Sandman TI good can, just a little heavy for PRS shooting.

This past weekend my brother and I shot a team match using the Ultra 7s and the only time I wore ear pro was for the stage guns we had to shoot. I am not sure I'd make a steady diet of it, especially under cover, but it seems pretty safe out in the wide open.

He answered my question

Hit the gym and get ye a specwar! Love the way it sounds....

But also enjoy my omega and even hybrid

Finally someone else that appreciates the Specwar. It's one of the quietest and toughest cans made, but it is heavy. The new Saker ASR is pretty much the same can with some makeup on. I stock both, and neither sell good because they don't get the hype needed

Just for another data point. I ended up shooting the Rock Lake PRS match a couple weeks ago with my 30cal Ultra 7 and ended up tied for 2nd place. It's not quite as good as a brake at knocking down recoil, but rarely did I have trouble seeing impacts.

A word to the wise for those using an Omega; check it after every stage and make sure it isn't coming apart. I had a hell of a time with mine during a match last year. It was unthreading at both ends of the can and causing all manner of accuracy issues. I'm lucky I didn't launch it down range. Figure out what configuration you plan to run it in, then rocksett it together.

gotta use your man hands

As to why I recommend TBAC... I know they are a bit more coin than others and often that doesn't (IMHO) directly translate into a better product i.e. Surefire-(just last week I saw a guy shoot his $1600 Surefire 85yrds down range when the locking mechanism failed). HOWEVER in the case a Thunder Beast Arms Company it certainly does. Just a few months ago I witnessed (directly) someone at the local range loan a few shots through his can to someone and proceeded to thread a .30 cal TBAC Ultra 7 on to a Sako TRG-22 in .308....The guy torches off a round and the can owner thinks... "wow that was loud" and asks "what load are you shooting?" the gun owner replies; "285gr Hornady Match" WTF?? so the host rifle was a Sako TRG-42 in .338 Lapua Mag. The can owner just about shits himself, removes the Ultra 7 with dread. He inspects it:... No strike, no bulge, no rattle no nothing! He calls TBAC the next day and they say; yeah that happens time to time- DON'T make a habit out of it.

I will be getting an Ultra 7 for my Tikka 260, right now I use a Rugged Surge which is heavy but quiet. I can shoot in the open with no ears and I think it's definitely hearing safe.

I put 40 rounds through it in my pasture recently and it was comfortable to shoot, I can only do that with the 260 and 300 blackout subs. I can't shoot my 10.3" and 18" 5.56 rifles without ears on, but they also have the noise from the action which is loud itself.
