Hey all so I currently am in the middle of building my first prs style rifle in 6mm creedmoor. I have a budget of around max 1500 dollars and want to get the best bang for my buck. So if I could get some good mil/mil ffp optic recommendations that'd be great thank you very much all!

  • What is the platform for the scope? Bolt action
  • What cartridge are you shooting? 6mm creedmoor
  • What is your intended use for the scope? PRS and bench shooting
  • What type of conditions will you typically shoot in? daylight primarily
  • What are the typical distances you intend to shoot? 200-400 and 500+
  • Are there any specific specifications you would like? mil/mil ffp
  • What is the price range you can afford? max 1500

Cronus or tract would be good options. Viper gen 2 isn't bad either and leaves room for mounts and some ammo. Plenty of good used options in the classifieds here to get more scope for the money.

im not to worried about mount and ammo for the gun as i already got all my stuff to start reloading 6mm creedmoor so i guess ill look into trying to get a gen 2 in the 1500 dollar range and for the mount ill probably go with the spuhr mount or a vortex mount idk yet

i have the gun this is just optic help
I just bought a Delta Stryker 4.5-30x56mm HD Its glass is spectacular, I was shooting out in NV desert today at 500yds and it produced a warm colorful target.$1599 at ED Gun west.com in Democratic Peoples republic of California . I have a Athlon Cronus 4.5-29x56mm ,its very good, but the Delta is a solid step above .

So you are worried about staying below $1500 for the optic but plan to use a $400 mount? Might want to rethink that. LOL The Seekins/Vortex Precision matched rings will do what you need for around $120. And good call looking for a Razor II. It will serve you well. Liberty Optics has the 4.5-27 new for $1599. Just add it to your cart for that price to show.

Due to overwhelming demand we will be once again running the Cronus BTR 4.5-29x56's , through midnight Sunday December 6th, for only $1,143.99. Our web builder is working on getting this set up on our site as I type, however, feel free to give us a call and place an order, 516-217-1000. Thank you
rough too bad its until the 6th or id consider this since im not purchasing the optic until later this month

would you recommend the high rings for vortex 34mm mount for the gen 2? also thanks for the link to liberty optics for the great price on the gen 2? Finally do you know if the 1599 is a price that will go away soon for the gen 2 or is that a permanant price? I only ask since im getting 3 paychecks this month and plan on using my third paycheck for the optic which will be later this month

What rifle? I use the 1" high 34mm rings on most of my rifles.

They have had that price going for quite a while so don't think it's a short term sale. Scott from @LibertyOptics is on the site so he might chime in.

i have a defiance tenacity action with a proof research barrel and i plan to do it on a mpa hybrid or mdt acc chassis im pretty new into the bolt action game i only have ars so thank you very much for your help

I've got a RPR in 6 Creed and was going to get an MPO (now $900) but lucked out on a MK5 when Cabelas did their blowout sale on the 3.6-18. Koshkin did a review on the MPO and apart from the weight, it sounds like a fantastic scope.

The MPO is nice, but it's no Razor. With his budget I would look for use or come up with the extra $99 and get a new one from Liberty Optics. I have the MPO ILya reviewed, I purchased it from him, and a 5-25x56 For the price they are good scopes.

Probably true... I hope OP has plenty of 6mm to shoot up cause my local store wants $26/box for Hornady Black 105's and they are hardly in stock. Crazy

i think my local store wanted 32 per box on hornady black 37 on hornady precision hunter and like 35 on hornady match but yea my roommate and i since we are in college split a reloading setup to reload because also 300 blackout is a pain in the ass to find let alone get good prices for and his 6.5 is also hard to find here

WOW, great price esp for a new one! I don't think i paid much less than that for a used one. excellent scope.

yeah with that set up the 1” should work. Here is a pic of a TL3 action with 1” rings and a Heavy Varmint contour barrel. You could go with the 1.1” height Vortex Precision Matched rings if you wanted a little more room
