If true, hopefully it can be managed a little better than in the past. For example, one Central location (website that shows schedule of matches, match info, and registration.) Instead of trying to find some obscure website just to register. Also, maybe some guidance to match directors to stop having stupid props, silly rules, limiting gear, etc.
I swear I heard the rumor as early as around the time of SHOT earlier this year. Maybe I was dreaming.
Anyway I hope its a change for the better. Trying to find match info on their website leaves a bit to be desired, esp the club matches which I'm more interested in.

Maybe Kay et al. will see the utility in leaving (making?) the website functional during the Finale, or at least have it back online within a couple days afterwards.

dont get too far off...1 bag and knowing how to use it is all you need

I hope so, its pretty hard to try to get into the sport for some guys when you need so much. Like i said in another thread I have a friend and we are looking to basically share expenses if I can get him into it. I have my setup and gear but he doesnt believe me, because i have stuff he doesnt and says if I have it then he needs it too and cant afford it all. I told him he could use my tripod etc but can see how that might not work
99% of the time the only stuff i use during a PRS match, as far as actual shooting stages goes
rifle + bipod + sling
Side winder dope card holder
2 extra round holder
game changer/fortune cookie
kestrel (could replace with a phone app, the kestrel is just more convenient)
every now and then a stage will make you shoot off a pack or something where a good pack will be an advantage, but its rare
i think i shot 2 matches this year that had tripod spec'd stages and they provided tripods for the stage or you could use your own
of course, if you get out into the more hiking/field oriented matches, a good tripod can be a huge advantage

I think you're grossly overestimating the gear you need to be successful in the PRS. There's a lot of top shooters that have basically cut down to one bag, and only use a tripod when the stage calls for it. Morgan's gear list in the previous post is pretty spot on.
A lot of criticism from someone who's never shot a match. I occasionally shoot PRS matches, and I have some criticisms of the sport. But if you are using the "gear race" fallacy to prevent you from shooting the sport - that is pathetic.
It would behoove you to shoot a match. Stop making silly excuses for why you can't go. There's too many people on this site that have BS excuses for not shooting a PRS match, yet somehow seem qualified enough to provide their criticism on the sport.
