Gunsmithing PTG

Re: PTG

I run 2 of them, and they work as they should. Very good value for the money. It's not a Surgeon DBM system, but it isn't priced in the same ballpark either.

Re: PTG

I have two and they are great. Hard to beat for the price.

Re: PTG

I have one and 2 of the 'Newman' version in short action. The ONLY difference I can find between the Newman and the Stealth is the latch. Everything else seems to be the same. It works, fits a M5 inlet as others have said, and the price is excellent.
Haven't played with a long action version, so can't comment there.

Re: PTG

no, AI type mags are the only ones that'll work, unless you get a wyatt's, but that is much more $ and the mags are propriatary.

check out alpha mags. the most econimical of the bunch, and although i have no experience with them (yet), the other hiders give them a big thumbs up.

they have a longer version / type 2 mags for longer COLs

Re: PTG

I have run a short action PTG bottom for about 6 months and am very happy with it. I use Alpha type II and AI mags. The Alpha type II is good except it is very hard to insert into the bottom metal with 10 rounds. The mags swell on the sides and then have an interference fit. Most actions require a small notch or cut at the bottom on the feed ramp if you use Alpha II mags. This is to provide clearance for the nose of the longer rounds. It has nothing to do with the actual fit of the magazine in the bottom metal.
