I decided to get the HMR today after spending a month researching. Took it to the range and did this with factory ammo at 500 with 3 shots.

By splatter I would say 6.5 Creedmor...........
pardon me, just sippin and postin silliness

that is awesome.
A buddy is wanting a 1 rifle solution to his lack of rifle situation and is checking this out. I pulled his man card for only wanting 1 rifle and sent him to do dishes.
It seems like a no brainer based on accuracy reports. Its about the same $ as a CTR here in Denver and has an upgraded stock and AICS compatable DBM. Im a tikka fan and can see this giving the CTR a run.

Give us the full down.

It is a 6.5 Creedmoor and I was shooting 143gr Precision Hunter.

I'll start with the stock. I think for the money it is fantastic! I would rather it had a pic rail on the bottom, but the studs work ok. BTW, does anyone know if there is a way to attach a pic rail to the studs? From there let's talk about the trigger. I think it is pretty good for a factory trigger. I will be replacing it at some point, but for now, it will do. I really wish it would have come with a muzzle break and a toolless adjustable length of pull. The bolt!!! Oh my god the bolt! It is the among the best I have used. Really close if not right at a tikka.

All in all, I think it is an awesome rifle for the money. In fact, I love it so much I am thinking about selling my RPR and getting another Bergara.

Please pardon my being late in saying so. But,...GREAT SHOOTIN' if I do say so myself!

I just did a review for GunsAmerica on the HMR and I love it, for the price it's hard to beat, even when you compare it against the new Remington 700 in a Magpul stock and Tikka's T3X CTR. I'm keeping the review rifle, trying to decided on what optic to put on it but this rifle was a hammer. I think the barrel needs some more breaking in, it seemed my rifle took 40 rounds or so before it started to come into its own but after that I was very pleased.

Hornady 140 gr American Gunner, 3 shots, 100 yards.

The Bergara HMR is compatible with Remington 700 aftermarket stocks, triggers and scope mounts. The only real difference is the bolt, which is coned vs. Remington's three rings of steel, so it is not compatible with the Remage barrel nut premade barrels.

I got one of these for my son as a gift for completing grad school. Great rifle for the money. Also shot the Hornady ELD-X and it was a hammer. Don't hesitate to buy. He is using it for a cross over hunting / steel rifle.

I read that review, DAMN YOU!...;) I'm kickin' myself in the butt because I had a nice Shilen barrel put on a Win 70 post '64 long action. The idea was supposed to be in 6.5x55 imp. or 6.5x57 Imp. (std Mauser case), but I got talked into the 6.5 Creed as both the gunsmith I worked with and the guy who did the barrel job (Dillon at MGM Barrels, outstanding BTW) were pretty adamant about the 6.5 Creed for accuracy. Well, the rifle is accurate as all get out. But, I'm stuck up the flagpole now, as nothing readily transmits to a magazine system for it. I bought a target stock at one point only to find out pre '64 and post have different lengths between action screws.

All said and done, for what I wanted/needed, this would have been the ticket. I already have what this rifle cost in my rifle and it still needs a stock/magazine system.

I think the BT17 rail section from Atlas / Accushot will work for you for adding picatinny rail section to the front of the rifle where the sling studs are.

I've got a buddy that has one that he has done extensive load testing with and it seldom shoots over 1.5 MOA but it seldom shoots under 1.0 and that's with just about every load he's tried - very consistent. He's ready to sell it at this point as his CTR is a .1 - .2 gun with the right load and that's what he'd expected with the Bergara. Luck of the draw I reckon...

Just ordered one of these today myself, I just had to have one. I already have the CTR also and it's a hell of a shooter, can't wait to take this one out and see what she does..

Anyone know if the Bergara is the same footprint as a Rem 700?

Was thinking of getting the entry level HMR and putting it in a Cadex, but wasn't sure if they'll mesh w/o modification.

I was also wondering if the Cadex chassis with their folding buttstock would bolt in and work ( hows bolt handle clearance, etc.) with the Bergara Tactical models barreled actions. Also has anyone installed a Tubb's Remington trigger on your Bergara action ?

I bought this same rifle earlier this year and have had a handful of chances to shoot, every time getting behind the gun is always a pleasure. The stock works, flat out nothing fancy about it. Trigger is fine for out of the box factory with no creep and breaks cleanly. I've been pleased since day one. It was a toss up between this and the CTR, the Tikkas stock dropped and the Bergara won out in 6.5 Creedmoor. Currently have a Bushnell LRSTi 4.5-18x44 sitting on it with Harris Bipod.
