Gentlemen,

As many of you know, I'm a Pulsar dealer & have been fortunate enough to help some fellow 'Hiders source the N550 Digisight for their night shooting/hunting needs. Unfortunately, I have been unable to inventory these units for the last several months due to a NATIONWIDE backorder situation with Pulsar's North American distributor.

Last week, my Pulsar rep notified me that THREE of my 30 units on backorder would be available sometime between March 15-18. Since that call two of these N550 Digisights have been sold but I have ONE LEFT that is going to need a new home atop your rifle! I want to offer it at a SCREAMIN' price here on the 'Hide so visit the item listing on deltaoutdoorsman.com if you want to see the details.

Thanks

Re: Pulsar N550 Digisight: availability update

I'm resurrecting an old thread to let interested parties know that I have ONE UNIT available from my June order available for sale. As is mentioned above, there is still a major backorder with the US Distributor & I'm still just being allocated just 3 units a month. Due to demand I have been unable to keep an inventory for more than a week or two in 2011. I've sold two in the last week but have one more that needs a new home.

I'm going to let this one go for $1,265.00 SHIPPED in the lower 48 AND I'll include the Pulsar 940IR booster illuminator. On July 1st, Pulsar is instituting a price increase & this package price will go up $100.00. So, if you're interested you need to jump on this last unit deal as the same setup will be $100.00 more come July 1.

Questions, just get in touch via PM, email or phone call.

Thanks guys!

Re: Pulsar N550 Digisight: availability update

**July Availability Update**
Just heard from my Pulsar rep & it looks like I'll be getting <span style="font-weight: bold">FOUR</span> Pulsar N550 Digisight units by the end of this week (July 22). Two of them are already spoken for but there are <span style="font-weight: bold">2</span> that are going to need a new home.

Like I mentioned in the previous post, Pulsar instituted a pricing adjustment on July 1 & is no longer including the booster 940 Illuminator Flashlight as part of the package. The cost for the N550 Digisight is now $1,265 shipped to your door in the lower 48 states. However, with these last 2 units, I'll throw in the 940 Illuminator for $99.00 (normal price is $120.00), bringing the price for the N550 Digisight AND 940 Illuminator to $1,364.00 shipped to your door in the lower 48 states.

Feel free to get in touch if you have questions or want to reserve one of these units.

Thanks!

<span style="text-decoration: line-through">ONE remaining!</span> NONE remaining. Last unit just sold. I'll work on procuring an additional unit or two but it could well be late August before I have these again...

Don't wait if you think you're interested. I haven't had Digisights in stock since October '10 & my last two didn't last very long (both sold within 24 hrs of posting as available)...

Thanks

Well made sales video but it is obvious from anyone with a trained eye you are using lots of active IR illumination. Not a passive unit.

Let us see some video with no IR under true dark conditions. I can easily tell if IR is being used. Nothing wrong with that as long as people no it is not a passive system.

The function of the Pulsar N550 Digisight is not based on the tube technology you see with the PVS 14, etc. It is essentially a real time processed image that uses IR illumination to "see" the image.

If you want a REALLY good representation of the picture & performance of the N550 Digisight, take a few minutes & watch the video of the review below. The Pulsar 550R monocular uses the EXACT same chipset as the 550 Digisight. The image is the same but the Digisight seems to benefit more from a booster illuminator at ranges beyond 100 meters, such as their 940 model, than the 550R. Could be due to the angle of how it is mounted to the unit, don't know for sure.

Nobody is saying here that digital night vision technology is going to be BETTER than that the tube Generation 3 units out there. However, the performance is VERY good and, at half the price of a PVS 14, allows a lot of hunters & shooters to get into night vision without taking out a second mortgage or selling a kidney...

For your viewing pleasure, the review...

Re: Pulsar N550 Digisight: availability update

Greets Cey -

A couple of questions for you.

I have a 5 million candlelight lamp that I put a 10x10 inch IR light filter over. This was WAY TOO BRIGHT for my PVS-14.

In your estimation based on being a dealer or through your experience is it possible to damage the unit because of too much IR light?

Or

Will it just washout the image, much light daytime use and not harm the CCD components?

Also I haven't seen any youtube vids on this but I would like to use a green laser for 50 yard work and have the digisight zeroed at 150 yards. What do the rendered image look like of a laser?

I know in conventional Night Vision a laser shows up like a "light sabre".

Thanks for your help.

<span style="color: #000099">My experience with the Pulsar N550 Digisight is that too much IR light will simply wash out the image. It will NOT damage the unit because the unit does not use tube technology like your PVS-14. In simple terms, the image of the N550 Digisight is basically processed & displayed in real time through the chipset of the unit. There is no tube to damage.</span>

Or

Will it just washout the image, much light daytime use and not harm the CCD components?

<span style="color: #000099">You can use the N550 Digisight during daytime conditions with no damage whatsoever to the internal components. Again, it is not using tube technology & is designed to function at both daylight & nighttime.</span>

Also I haven't seen any youtube vids on this but I would like to use a green laser for 50 yard work and have the digisight zeroed at 150 yards. What do the rendered image look like of a laser?

<span style="color: #000099">I honestly don't know, I have yet to run the Digisight with a laser. If anybody else knows, please share.</span>

I know in conventional Night Vision a laser shows up like a "light sabre".

Thanks for your help.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask if you have additional questions.

I'm down to TWO Pulsar N550 Digisight units in local inventory right now. Once they're gone it will be the 3rd week in September before I have any more...

Thanks!
