I have purchased many guns from this site and others and all have been quality transactions. Now I have come across a rifle that interests me - at a fair, not extravagant price, but it's listed on Armslist. I know that this website has more than its share of bad actors - thus I want to see if there is a way to improve my protection in a potential transaction. I thought about locating an FFL on the sellers end and pay them a fee to conduct the deal as well as the transfer. I am unable to pick it up in person due to distance. Any other suggestions? Rather than flush my hard earned shekels down the proverbial crapper, I would walk away from this deal, if I can't add a high degree of certainty in the legitimacy of this sale. BTW - I have no reason to be suspicious of the seller and he is supposed to contact me by phone this p.m. I may have a better feel for things after that conversation, but, for me, that is just the start.

Go with your gut..I've bought a few items and had no issues. It may be beneficial for you to make contact with his local FFL dealer..in doing this it would set his mind at ease as well if he is the slightest bit worried about a shady buyer....there are scams that get flagged daily..hope this helps.
