I guess the point of my question is does the .300 blackout have more recoil than a 5.56? To me the subs feel lighter in recoil than a regular 5.56. I should probably get with RSilvers and ask about the recoil energy of a blackout.
As far as lasers go what would be the best bang for the buck? If there was just an IR laser with no visible laser and no illumination I think it would fit my recreational use. I would like to have the new DBAL D2 but I think it may be more than what I need. </div></div>
I would definitely get true recoil energy before you put any risk on your NOD.
IR lasers are simple and so is the LDI OTAL or ITAL. These are single IR pointers that are built VERY well and very reliable. I think these are the best bang for the buck in the robustness Dept.

User IR-V here also reports good results from the Lasermax unit as well so that is also a choice. </div></div>
Last time I did the calculations, Subsonics appeared to be OK based on the calculation data and assuming 4Kg of rifle, but the 300BLK Supersonics were well outside safe levels.
If anyone reposts a confirmation of the cartridge peak chamber pressure specs we're talking about I can confirm it.
