@Precision Underground why you always shilling triggers outside the PX man? Have some clas
CETME would be coolDoes it have to be an AR-style? Century Arms Cetme fills the bill perfectly!
C91 is their designation. $600 and you qualify to wear Rhodesian jungle shorts to the range!

And... That right there is why I posted. Great idea on a fun new toy.Does it have to be an AR-style? Century Arms Cetme fills the bill perfectly!

I dont need pointing... but I am still not buying his trigger, What part about shit fifle are you not understanding?
Not a big fan of CETME/PTRs but ymmv.
Then why are you here? Go buy whatever cheap POS you want.
I agree with the 18"-20" length. I chose the 20" because it had a rifle length gas system and the 18" had a mid-length one.I’d get an 18-20” and throw a scope of your choosing on it. Personally I would figure out what you plan to do with it and then pick the optic. A low power scope is fine for silhouette sized targets to 400 but if shooting smaller targets then get more power.
Shame some cannot understand "Junk" ... get all the cool stuff is fun but a blaster makes me a Fudd. A 168 at 2600 is still a beautiful thingFor the record, the thread does say ‘Junk.’
But they can be made to run!

Exactly Gregg... very well stated. Shit rifle stirs up the guys. Give a man a slinging 168SMKs an auto 400yds is a good thing.I agree with the 18"-20" length. I chose the 20" because it had a rifle length gas system and the 18" had a mid-length one.
Here's my philosophy on AR's. As originally designed, it's a very finely balanced (features balanced in harmony with each other) system; and like most systems, that balance tends to go away when one chooses to alter the basic features away from the original plan. I'd like to think I can figure out valid improvements, but truth is, I'm just not shrewd enough to pull that off. Some here are, and I admire their skills greatly. It would be pointless for me to put up pictures of my guns because they're just so conventional. My viewpoint is that the skill comes first, and that such skill just might save a lot of cash that would otherwise be spent on mechanical improvements. I think the barrel and the trigger are the most crucial features aiding accuracy, and that that's all kinda wasted of the skill isn't there to begin with. That's where I do my spending. Sights are the very last part of the equation, and they need to b adequate, not ostentatious.
As for magnification, there are limits and they're not so broad as some might think. Distance makes mirage more pesky. This requires that mags be stepped down so the target doesn't dance too wildly. Oddly (perhaps), higher mags are more useful when distances are considerably shorter (100yd, and 200yd at most). For decades, I shot long distances with 6-24 magnification; and at 1Kyd, I seldom used higher than 18x. I have a pair of (identical) Mueller scopes with an upper mag limit of 32x, but that's for my varmint rifles; and the 32x is really only used inside 100yd.
BTW I have been digressing far and wide since after my first sentence, and none of what followed was in response to Rob.
Greg
redneck BMX... place was better before you got here and will be better when you are goneEh we need a few people like him to annoy all the elitist fucks. I hope he comes back with a range report using wolf at 25yards. Three shot groups ftw.
Well... shilling in multiple threads kinda gives it awayWhat made you think he was trying to sell you a trigger?

I asked about a shit rifle. Dont know what the new guys here took offense at that? SHIT rifle for the dumbasses. I ordered a CETME cause I wnt to dress uo in some stoopid short shorts and play Rhodesian one weekendFor the record, the thread does say ‘Junk.’

Whats special about it? Am I not up to your standard? It’s a special kind of special that needs internet advice to buy junk…
No, you should rewrite it to say that with the plethora of inexpensive options, you have analysis paralysis and need someone else to make a decision on a $1.00/pop noise maker. Your criteria are- apparently- “gun go bang.” Every big name ar manufacturer makes a 308 ar that fulfills this role. Literally no one needs to do internet research to understand this. Feeding a “shit rifle” (your words) match ammo is- to most here- throwing good money after bad.Maybe I should re write the post and say whats the coolest most expensive gas 308 that none of you fucks can afford. A 168 at 2600 is a 168 at 2600. Makes no difference where it comes from
So, we should expect Juniper to show up in the PX, hawking budget 308s and premium ammo in 3, 2, 1…FYI: Friendly reminder of the recent warnings here at SH about hacked accounts. Data breaches on other sites released the passwords of their members, who may post using the same screen name and using the same passwords on multiple firearm sites. Older dormant accounts with a flurry of recent activity can be a sign. Not accusing anyone, just sayin'.
Thanks for the long winded reply. And “A 168 at 2600 is a 168 at 2600. Makes no difference where it comes from,” is not an accurate statement (pun intended). The rifle (barrel) dictates whether it hits the target, or hits near the target- all else being equal.
This is what I am going to call a “professional hobbyist” forum dedicated to precision long range shooting. You are actually surprised that you are getting push back? Honestly, I’m surprised you got as many quality responses as you have.
Just go to whatever big box sporting goods store is local and still sells ar rifles. Pick out a 308 you like, grab an optic, and go shoot. In the tier you are shopping in, there won’t be a hair’s breadth difference in reliability between them. You don’t need to worry about durability because you don’t plan to shoot it enough to burn out the original barrel. For your intended purposes, the difference in manufacturers comes down to roll marks. Pick a pretty one.
A 168 SMK on target is the bottom line7 replies ffs dude learn to multi quote.
Lil thin skinned to be hanging around shooting crap semis.
Close your mouth open your ears you might learn something, a good trigger is one of the best and cheapest investments you can get.
Yeah... absolutely! Good deals to be had after the Clinton sunset. Just asking what you would look for.rout through pawn shops ? and estate sales most of what ever they are selling is pretty cheap some may be really sweet deals
Dude... You probably cant convert mils to MOA,,, but you go be yous
Thanks for the long winded reply. You feel better now?
Hey HLee.. whats the interest in me? Want to meet up sometime for some fun time or what? Give your opinion of a beater gas .308 or go back to LBGTQ whatever. You never bought a shit rifle for fun? It’s a special kind of special that needs internet advice to buy junk…

How many Mils to 400 with 168 with a 110 yd zero? Hint... It dont make no difference the boolit or velocity to get a hit at 400No, you should rewrite it to say that with the plethora of inexpensive options, you have analysis paralysis and need someone else to make a decision on a $1.00/pop noise maker. You know I do concrete work right?Whatever rifle you end up with, look into CounterSniper or Quigley Ford optics to put on it.
I do now. Obviously you know the next question will be about bow kills and max bench press weight. You know I do concrete work right?
