The deal is the royals specifically keep their beaks out of politics, at least openly.

A nation we fought several bloody wars against. A nation that still refers to us as "the colonies". A nation who even after 87 years of our forming, was trying to fracture the United States.
A nation who actually despises you for "winning WW2", they really hate that shit. They actually think THEY were the heros of WW2.

This right here. We have our faults just like everybody else. And above all else, we ARE the prime target right now for global commies, but there is NO other country out there which is still functional to the point at which we are. I was reading one article by a British writer and I think he summed it up well when he commented that most of the British realize they don't have any real "national identity" but they could always point to the queen and say, that's us, that's Britain.
Essentially in a country that has been reduced to a multicultural chaos of tribal disputes, the folks that remember before it was such a chaos could point to the queen and say that's us as a reminder of something.

Nothing that you quoted from the Constitution, and nothing at all in it, forbids the head of state of the United States to render RESPECT to a fallen head of state of a friendly nation even if that head of state is royalty. It's diplomacy 101.
Rendering respect is not a sign of subservience, fealty, loyalty, obedience, or anything of the sort. Even if the person being rendered such respect is part of a royal family.
US military personnel are duty bound to render a salute to allied foreign military personnel of higher rank and that includes the head of state and/or CinC of their armed forces. Even if that head of state is part of a royal family.
Very true. We actually rendered honors and did the circle thing with our covers and said, "Hurrah, Hurrah, Hurrah" when we passed and reviewed in front of The Queen during the 1994, 50th Anniversary of D-Day events in Torquey, Normandy, and LeHarve. Respect but not fealty indeed.
