Kasey B. I'm hopeful you will notice this thread and chime in.

I purchased a pic rail and QD mount for my Atlas 5-H bipod, but then was advised simply to attach it more directly to the mount on the bipod itself and skip the QD mount and pic rail. So I think I got that done, but wanted to make sure this is correct. See picture below. Also when I attach it now to the AI rifle it is a bit "jiggly" even when I tighten down the knob on the spiggot.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

The mount made by samb300 is really nice. That eliminates all the wiggle.

The spigot mount jiggles a bit. That is normal and really doesn't cause me any issues at all. I periodically have to tighten the knob after firing a few rounds. Someone here posted a fix for the spigot mount that was pretty cool using the abrasive skateboard tape. It works really well on my mount. I would post the pictures but I can't post pictures on this site anymore. Keep getting invalid file and can't seem to get anyone's attention to help remedy.

Maybe I can post pictures via Tapatalk...

You can see the tape mounted to both the rifle and the mount. When this is tightened down, it is solid.

If there is a lot of play, try loosening the knob all the way and pushing the knob to drive the spigot into the chassis as far as possible. Then tighten the knob.

When everything is made and installed properly, there is very little play in the system. The rifle may tilt 2-5 degrees when the knob is tightened all the way. I've taken that up by placing a plastic/rubber shim in the joint and also by skim bedding the mount. I believe the skateboard tape above would also work well.

If there is significant play then something in wrong.

The spigot might be out of spec. Happened to me. Kasey sent me a new one.

Mine jiggled too so there must be a lot of out of spec spigots. I didn't crank down it with pliers but I tightened the shit out of it and the Atlas would still move.

I bought the mount from Sam and sold my Atlas and adapter. Later after getting the mount from Sam I bought another Atlas and adapter (why I don't know) but the adapter just sits in a box unopened as I will never use it. The Atlas is rock solid on Sam's mount.

I tried and tried with the spigot mount, but finally gave up on it due to play and coming loose on me (even with Loctite). I finally just went with a rail under the front of foreend and could not be happier. Now not only is it rock solid but it is within reach for adjustments, from behind the rifle prone. I really don't get folks are so hung up on these spigot mounts and having them so far out front that they are a bitch to reach and adjust. It must be beyoud my pay grade.
