question: BATF - SBR Filing

[perfect placement]

I am ordinary everyday guy but I love the HK UMP .45 how hard is it to get the proper Stamp to own one of these legally.
I was reading the BATF Form I have no law enforcement or military back ground. I am just a hobby shooter. the 200$ fee does not bother me just looking for some experience in this area.

You will never own a real UMP unless you are eligible for posties.

What you can do is buy a USC and have it converted. There are several companies that do the conversions. From what I understand if you have a steady hand with a dremel - you too can do it. Here is one such company: http://www.hdps.org/htm/5-3-1.htm

Once you get the parts and pieces and are down to cutting the barrel or replacing it with a UMP barrel - then it is time to send in your Form 1, have the receiver engraved, receive your stamp, snip the barrel or install a UMP barrel. Done.
