I have a question. Lets say I'm a class 3 dealer (which I am not) and I have in my inventory a suppressor.

Is it possible to have an employee or board member (assuming I have an LLC listed on the license) take the suppressor by themselves to the range?

If so, is that privilege only given to those connected to the company? What would you need to give them to take to the range (for example the form 4 with stamp for non dealers)?

I've asked this question to a couple class 3 dealers and got different answers, so if someone also knows where the rules would be written by the ATF on this subject that would be great.

    Thanks

If you want to confuse yourself even more you may call the ATF and ask them. I'm sure employees of a class III can possess the product for demo and sales purposes but what needs to be in order for this to take place I do not know.

First the can won't be on a form 4. It will be on a form 3. If the employie is on the the FFL employie list, he can take it to the range.
also, only take a copy of the form. Keep the original at the shop. This is also ture with form 4's. Never take the original with you. If it is lost or distroyed my someone, you can't prove it is registered.

This aligns with what I heard from a dealer that was knoledgable. But I heard exactly opposite by a dealer that at this point I'd say has questionable knowledge.

Any employee can poses the class 3 item "for demo and business purposes" He however cannot take it to his house over night or for an indefinent amount of time.
