Im looking at getting one at a good price, around 350. Supposedly used around 3-4 times, great condition etc etc.

My question is which models had issues? Is there a tell tail way of finding out via serial number? He is giving me an inspection period on the spotter to make sure its what I want etc. I just dont know when/which models were effected, or was it them all?

The problems were spots on reticle, canted reticle, hard to turn focus rings.. anything else? Thanks guys

Re: Question for people that own a Bushnell Excursion

I have one that is hard to turn the focus, and the zoom. Still more than worth the money.

However, the tripod is crap. If it comes with the scope, just throw it away (I did), it is literally not worth the aggravation to own.

Only thing I can find wrong with mine is when I go up or down in elevation, the crosshairs move a bit. Awesome for the money, but I do plan to get a leupy eventually.

Fit and Finish not the greatest but decent. Glass seems good but yes a little resolution lost at max zoom, I don't have any problems with spots or reticle movement. Hard focus and zoom, anyone have problems with the zoom ring slipping? I have to grip fairly hard to turn the zoom ring. Looks like the adhesive isn't very good. Tripod fails. I will get a serial number later.

Re: Question for people that own a Bushnell Excursion

I had one, and it had the infamous spots all in it. It literally looked like a paint can exploded inside. I called Bushnell about it, and they said to send it in, it was covered under warranty.

This is were it gets tricky. Bushnell does honor the lifetime warranty on it, but if your spotter needs any major repair, they simply ship you a POS replacement that is non-reticle. I found that out the hard way.

There excuse was, we no longer make this spotting scope, therefore we no longer carry any major repair parts to fix them. So we'll ship you the replacement scope. After receiving the replacement scope, I quickly phoned back to bushnell and got the original Excursion sent back.

I have since sold it and got a USO. Just adding some much needed info about the warranty.

Are you asking me Irep or OP? If it's me, I did get the Leupold Mark4 spotter but then traded it for a Zeiss Diascope 85FL.

I personal like the USO over the Leupold, so I keep it instead.
