I will be accompanying my wife to Malabar Farm state park for a show she is doing Saturday. Once I get her set up at 10:00am I'm left to entertain myself until the show is over at 4:00pm. Looks like this place is around half way between Columbus & Cleveland. Is there anything to do in this area as far as shooting in concerned? Reloading Shops to visit, gun stores?

Re: Question for the guys in Ohio

Nothing around that area really.. I basically spent every weekend in that area growing up. IF you like to hike, Malibar Farms has some trails I believe and your not that far from the Pleasant Hill damn which is good for pics as well as some hiking trails. Youre right down the road from Pleasant hill if you want to do some fishing. I will try and think of some other things as well for ya but like I said, theres not much around that area.

I thought of TVP but its about 2hrs drive from where he will be.. All back roads to get there. Of course you can shoot out to 2000+ yards.. Its my favorite place to shoot.. Fin Fur and Feather would be a good place to go. I thought about that but didnt know if they moved since I was last there.

Re: Question for the guys in Ohio

Doesn't sound like my wife wants me to venture that far from the park unfortunately. I'd love to check that place out.

I was considering bringing a couple of rifles to shoot if there was something available close by but it sounds like my options are pretty limited.

I appreciate the help though.

So you are venturing 4.5 hrs one way from Indy for her show but you cant get her to release the leash for just a bit? hahha a just kidding with you.

While your there, there is a overlook about 1/2 mile down the road from the farm called Mt. Jeez and about another 1/2mile further is an intersection with a little shop or something on the left hand side. You will see a covered out door "water trough" or whatever you want to call it. Anyway, its natural spring water, super cold and awesome to drink and free for everyone passing by.. you should try it. It looks suspect but trust me its fine. Hopefully it is still there. You should also get directions to the Pleasant hill Damn as its only about 20 min from the farm. Its a nice place to check out for a few min or so. And like I said, you could head down to pleasant hill itself and go hang out on the "beach". They call it a beach but it would still be decent to sit and watch the boats or read a book.
