Question for you Mausingfield owners

I’d say the Howa has more in common with Win70 than any Rem700 footprinted action.
Yeah, the flat bottom maybe but, the bolt looks almost identical, bolt nose, lugs & extractor. Very similar anyways.
I'm aware of the reputation the impact has &, I thought I'd throw that little bait in about it running near on as good as the Howa, just to see who'd bite. In seriousness though, I'd love an action which runs as good as the impact with BR cartridges.

Any top tier action will run the BR cartridges good.

There's nothing special about the Impact that makes it run BR based cartridges better then the other actions.

I could have worded that last post a little better. What I meant to say was, It would be excellent to choose an action for my build which runs BR cartridges as well as the impact runs say 6mm Creedmoor.

Anyone of the mechanical ejector actions paired with a mag kit would be a fine choice for ensures short case operation.

Even so, I wouldnt worry about the br in an impact

I run 6bra on a impact and a lone peak, using Mdt br mags they both work perfectly, not sure what you are worried about

So, how do they go with extraction?
I've read many instances where the short case causes or, can cause issues with denting of the case neck & the extractor letting go of the rim because of the angle created by the short case.
Very interested to hear a little detail about both actions.

never any problem with extraction. Never had a case neck dent. The problem with br cases is feeding not extraction. The length of the case requires a mag kit to position properly in the magazine. My Mdt br mags have worked perfectly

There are some that have issues with extraction as well, where the geometry of the actions inside lets the case rotate enough to slip out from under the extractor. So it can totally be a thing as well.

With my Mausingfield and 6mmBR I've had zero problems with extraction.
Once I got the mag lips bent to present the case correctly it feeds like butter.
But as far as ejection, I have to throw that bolt back with authority to the stop otherwise I risk a case turning around backwards and staying in the action. I messed with the first extractor but I couldn't overcome the problem so I didn't mess with the 2nd one.
It is nice when sometimes I can pull the bolt back slow, just far enough so the extractor holds the case, then pulling it out by hand. I do this if it's snowy, rainy, or muddy when I'm just shooting steel.
