I have not seen the MLR. I have seen the NPR2 and have used it briefly at 300yds. I am un familliar with these.
Paper to 600, steel to 1200. Is the NPR2 too fine? The MLR too heavy?
They list the MLR twice as heavy as the NPR2.
I have used fine reticles for shooting Dogs to 500. Maybe too fine for this platform.
Photos with reticles on target would be a help.

Re: Question NF SFP Reticles

Did you mean MLR?

As for the the npr2 and the npr1( I prefer the npr1) they are both great reticles in the 5-22, however in my opinion and for my use they are a bit to fine in the 3-15. Personally I would choose the straight mil dot in a sfp 3-15. I had the MLR in a 5-22 and it worked good, it did not appear to thick in my opinion. My only complaint is the half mil and whole mil lines were not distinctive enough.
My absolute favorite reticle is the MLR 2.0, it is very well thought out. There is no confusion when trying to range or holdover and is plenty bold enough for lowlight and hunting in the woods. ( the NPRF1 and MOAR look equally impressive, but I have not had a chance to do more than look through them). If you are an moa guy, you need to take a good hard look at the MOAR reticle.

Re: Question NF SFP Reticles

I think you are right. For many, that is a strong positive asset.
For me, like the TMR, it makes me cross eyed, like Steve Martin and his 'glasses. I cannot get past the floating intersection of the MOAR or the Tmr with its 'hole'.
Leupold has branded my eye with decades of its fine duplex and with it I am hell on dogs in close/mid range.

Re: Question NF SFP Reticles

I have a 3-15 with a NPR2 and I hate it it seems to wash out all the time. No matter what I try I seem to have problems with it.

Mine did too.
I sent it back and had it replaced with a NP-R1 reticle. Even though it's supposed to be the same line thickness as the NP-R2, it was much bolder and easier to see.

How much did that service cost? I may have it changed.
