So I’m still a bit new to the whole precision rifle game and learning everyday. My current do it all rifle is my tikka 6.5 CM. I recently discovered that the action is slightly canted with the bolt side sitting a bit higher within my KRG bravo. I discovered this via the level within my Anvil 30 ball head. That level is perfectly level, confirmed across multiple other known levels.

My question pertains to the leveling of my scope/reticle relative to the action. I’ve had about 10 different scopes on this rifle action and was always leveling the scope to the action, which I now realize was inducing cant due to the canted action. Other rifles that I’ve leveled the scope to the actions , with non canted actions, are fine of course. All match up with the known levels, plum bobs etc.

should I now level my scope (razor AMG) on this canted tikka action to the known level and disregard the action?

Well you could try to reinstall that action, maybe clamping it inside the anvil, confirming level and installing the stock per the KRG instruction. Or eyeball it level knowing there is a lot of tolerance stacking that could come into play. Meaning Arca rail / pic rail interface to chassis skin, chassis skin to chassis backbone, back bone to action body, action body to scope rail.

Double check the installation if you haven’t done so already. Otherwise contact KRG to see what remedy is available.

If all else fails, simply bed the action into the chassis.

My actions are all slightly canted - I just level scope to gravity as Spife mentioned. More natural for me to have it just a bit canted, and I am not always muscling against what feels natural.

Confirmed that it wasn’t sitting level within the bravo. I guess I got lucky with other bravos I’ve used with tikkas and even on this same action where they sat in there level without any fuss.

Thanks to all
