Suppressors Question on buying suppressor from Silencer Shop.

When I search for "local dealers" on Silencer Shop's website, I get several hits. My question is is the price you see on Silencer Shop for a given suppressor the price you pay at your local dealer?

Or do they have some sort of transfer fee or other mark up? Searched the Silencer Shop website but it's not real clear how this works. Thanks!

That is the price you'll pay. If there are enough stores in your area, you may see some price variation. What's happening is you're buying through that local store but SS is doing the fulfillment and paperwork for them. The local store gets a cut of the purchase price but probably not as much as if they sold it themselves. But then they'd have to order the can, stock it, do the paperwork etc. It's a good deal for the local stores.

Do you guys know if SS will ship my dealer the suppressor right away? Or will they hold it until my tax stamp is approved, then ship it?

They will ship shortly after the stamp is cashed, not approved. It will sit at your dealer while you wait on the approval.
Most of the dealers will let you visit your can while it's in jail-lol

I purchased an Ultra 7 and Socom 556 from Scott at THSF and they shipped to my dealer once the form 3 was approved. In both cases less than 48 hours. My form 4s were submitted after my dealer had cans in hand.

There is no background check required for silencers by Virginia, the background check is done as part of the form 4 processing.

I had to fill out both the 4473 and the VA form due to a trust-at least that's what my dealer said-I dunno

No need for the Virginia form since Virginia has no laws regarding silencers at all. There was a brief period when pre-41F form 4s were approved post-41F that needed a background check done but that was only when a trust was used.

Good to know. It was only $2, so I'm not going to pitch a fit about it. I was just glad to get my cans!
