Im new to dialing in distance on a scope, might be a dumb question but on the elevation turret it has an arrow pointing to the right saying up .25moa, im dead on at 100yd If the bullet drop is 6.4moa at 400yd which way do turn the turret?
Does that make sense, im trying to get my head around this whole dialling in thing and can only learn from reading as there is no one close that can teach me.
Cheers

Re: Question on dialing

This is far from advanced marksmanship but anyway...

If the turret has an arrow pointing right saying up .25moa, it means every click on the turret in the right direction (clockwise) will bring you up .25moa at 100 yards.

Turn clockwise to move up.

Also, because you dont have anyone that can show you, I suggest you invest in a Ballistics calculator. Plenty of instructions floating around on-line about how to use them.

What you should aim to do, Is get a drop chart for you current load/ammo.

This drop chart should be customised to your rifle setup, scope setup and ammo combination.

In a nut shell it tells you how many "clicks" your turrets will need to get you to said distance.
