My P226 in 357 Sig is accurate, but after installing a Bar-Sto 9mm conversion barrel, it shot 5.5" low at 25 yards.
When I first called Sig tech support, they were not very helpful, but Bar-Sto determined that the OEM barrel did not fully match the standard Sig barrels. I was told Sig installed sights to match the barrel.
The front sight is stamped "8", but I measure it has .203". I am measuring this front the dovetail to the top of the sight. Can someone look at the image, and tell me if I am measuring this correctly? If I am measuring correctly, then it appears that the sight is "mis-marked", probably to cover up a poorly machined barrel.
The rear sight is stamped #8, and measures correctly.
Note this list of Sig Front Sight Heights:
#5 = 6.01mm (0.235 inches)
#6 = 5.88mm (0.230 inches)
#7 = 5.74mm (0.225 inches)
#8 = 5.60mm (0.220 inches)
#9 = 5.46mm (0.215 inches)
#10 = 5.32mm (0.210 inches)
Also, For 9mm and .40, the norm is a #8 rear and a #6 front
For .357 SIG it's a #8 rear and a #8 front.
