All,

First off, I searched and couldn't find anything on this and in looking at a multitude of pictures I found a couple that match mine, but looking for some advice

Secondly, I apologize for the attached cell-phone pictures, best I had on hand.

With that out of the way....

Just purchased a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 and when I mount on my Remington 700 SA in its AX Chassis, in order to get proper eye-relief I'm finding the turret housing hits the back ring. Is this normal and is it ok for long-term use on a .308.

Thanks.

Normal is relative. Should be OK if not to snug against it. Recoil force is in the direction toward the back of the scope anyway, it is not like
the ring will smack against the turret housing.
Having said that...I would go with some lower rings and replace the back ring with a 4 bolt version, that would give you some more space
from the turret.
