Im no gunsmith by any means. But to me, they looked liked they ported the barrel and made it a part of the suppressor. It workded really well for them but what would happen with lead or plastic fouling from the wads? If if fouled the barrel and filled in the ports woulnt that essentually make the suppressor unoperatable?

I'm not so hip on all the class 2/3 stuff but the hubby worked for a few 07/SOT types. He said those guys are lauding a "new" invention that is old news. That show is all about catchy little gadgets and feel good B.S. and there is little to no hard data to show any true results. Most of the guys who build nifty AK variants are sheet metal beating, dremel tooling, "hold my beer and watch this" hacks. The show is a waste of time and lowers public opinion of the small manufacturer.
In other words, he is not a fan.

Supressors are filthy pigs and yes it will foul, quickly, and need to be cleaned regularly. For a device that loud I seriously doubt its worth the time, expense, and effort for the tax stamp. But many supressors lose effectiveness as they foul and need to be cleaned or repacked.

These RedJacket fools are exactly that, IMO... fools.
My dad has a 10ga Form 1 suppressor and a 12ga Form 1 suppressor.
One is built on the same idea as the MP5SD with a ported barrel, the other one is a standalone design but still uses a heavily ported guide tube to make sure that the wads don't come loose and rip the internals out of the suppressor.
They both work "well" compared to a full, unsuppressed shotgun blast but the bore size allows for an awful lot of unbaffled shock to traverse the guide tube and exit the muzzle, still creating a decent muzzle blast.
I wouldn't particularly note either as "ear safe" with supersonic loads, with light subsonic loads they are pretty quiet.

They are plenty quiet, with subsonic ammo the the muzzle report stays in the barrel, and the thing is pretty dang quiet...

Every fall I go to closed match shotgun shooting events with the "sniper shotguns" as they have been called. Shotguns that have been modified and have 4-7 foot long barrels on them with chokes for 12 gauges that run into 16 gauge dimensions. They sound likes 22's shooting. These guys make a suppressor that doesn't even come close to that.

I really have to agree. Some of the nicest AK's that I've ever seen (and I'm not much for the AK, not an insult to anyone, it just doesn't do it for me) but some of the nicest I've seen have come from a friend of mine and his group of cohorts that have AK build parties.
The workmanship on this forum from guys like Roscoe, Gordon, TacOps, Skunkworks, Dixon, Tooley, etc. and even the homebuilding guys like 300Sniper put these "professionals" to shame IMO.

It also drives me nuts that every freaking job they take is due "this Saturday". The AOW "kill stick" that they charge $350 for (or thereabouts) was a short barreled .410 shotgun that they had trouble getting to work. I ask you, why didn't they just sell that poor bastard a Taurus Judge? I don't particularly like the Taurus Judge but they would've saved the customer the stamp and probably had a better margin.

Their last show where they built the 410 ga gator killer class 3 short barreled pen gun was a joke. They ended up spending a bunch of time on a dangerious tool that is class 3 (I guess not being an expert) when a Tarus Judge would serve the purpose much better. And I don't even like the Judges 410 revolvers.
They are bad news and I wonder how many people are going to get them selves in trouble attempting to make the crap they are messing with. BATF is probably having a field day and are a sponser so the get enough busts to keep them in business. Not a good show for the gun crowd.

I can't believe how some people are bashing the Red Jacket program. A lot of it sounds like sour grapes. We all know what what makes the explosions, big deal it's for entertainment. If you don't like it, don't watch the damn thing.
