Re: Question on the Sale of my Remington 700
I just have a few recommendations that I always do.
Obtain a signed copy of the FFL dealer license through the mail and check the License on the ATF site.
Only accept payment by a USPS Money Order, and cash it at the Post Office prior to shipment.
Do not use Paypal for anything of consequence. I've been told of incidents where Paypal accounts were frozen...ie., the money basically confiscated by Paypal, for use in a firearms related transaction. These are personal accounts from people I know, I didn't just hear that on the internet, although those stories are out there.
Buy insurance and be sure to save all the receipts.
Use delivery verification...(it's like .50 extra)
Very important...don't just throw the rifle in a box, pack up the rifle like a gorilla were going to handle it...USPS breaks a lot of stuff...it amazes me sometimes... When you thing it's packed well enough...double that. An inexpensive plastic gun case inside a box is a good idea.
Anyway, good luck with your transaction.
