Hi, question for people who have gone this way. This is for a 6.5CM where I am using a Sinclair carbide turning mandrel (.262").

When specifying to Forster the 'inside neck diameter" for the custom honing, if I want the neck to be squeezed down to .004" under a loaded round, then I open to .002" with the turning mandrel, do I put down .260" on their form or do I put down .004" ?

Thanks, any help appreciated.

You tell them the actual diameter you want the neck of the die to be. Says so in their site

They have no idea what your loaded round will measure so you need to tell them what you want the die to be machined to.

Thanks Spife, I just got home from an overnight shift in the ER and my brain is all fucked up cause I haven't slept since Sunday. I do understand they would have no idea what my loaded round will measure, but isn't that the OD? On that same form you put up, in the instructions it says to specify the 'inside neck diameter'. Do I measure the OD of a loaded round and then subtract .004"? Again, thanks for the help.

The inside neck diameter of the die.

Yes. Measure the outside neck diameter of the case and subtract however much you want, .004 is a good bet, and tell them that spec so they can make the inside of the die match.
