i have a larue quick release scope mount on one of my AR's and love it, but at over $200, they are a little much for what i'm wanting on my next project.

does anyone have a recommendation for a quality quick release scope mount that won't break the bank?

Re: quick-release mounts?

I had an ADM mount that wouldn't return to zero. I know a lot of people have success with them, but I did not. It was a good mount if you didn't remove it and expect it to return to zero. It now sits on my 22 AR. Maybe I got a bad one, because I know it was installed correctly.

I now have a larue mount on my grendel with a NF 2.5-10 and it returns to "zero" within 1 click of windage. That said, I do not make habit of removing my scopes very often.

I like ARMS throw lever rings

Re: quick-release mounts?

I have a LaRue mounts for quite a few of my scopes and I have never had any issues with them at all. I think what some people miss is the fact that you need to push them forward each and every time as you engage the QD arms. I think that some people miss that fact and only do it when they remember to and then the return to zero is amiss. Never had any issues with any of mine not working as expected or leaving marks. But thats just my case. I know LaRue gets a whole lot of crap around here. But for me and what I do. They work withing my expectations.

Re: quick-release mounts?

I have several ADMs.
I believe that QR mounts need to be one piece to stand the best chance of RTZ.
I had ARMS throw lever rings and they were well made with a clever QR mechanism, but some people hate ARMS and badmouth the rings. I got rid of them because of my preference for one piece mounts.
The ADM mounts are the best value out there. Good locking QR mechanism, solid materials and machining, and relatively inexpensive. I'm not a huge fan of the vertically split rings but once they are properly assembled, they do not move. They are less expensive to produce and can be converted by the end user just by buying different rings, but when I've meticulously re-assembled them with the same scope, the zero has shifted quite a bit, which will not happen with your typical horizontally split one piece mount.

I had very good luck with the Burris PEPR fixed and QD Mount.

Re: quick-release mounts?

Larue is my first choice but if that's out of the budget ADM as others have said. If that's still too much then Burris Pepr mount. I have used them all and all worked very well.
