R Bros 338 Edge build

Just picked up my 338 Edge built by Travis from R Bros. Took it out back of the house to fire some test groups and break it in tonight. Shoots great so far. This weekend I will stretch its legs out past 1k. Hope to practice a little more and get it doped out for a black bear hunt I have booked next week.

Here's the specs:
Manners T2-A
Rogue long action (Defiance)
Broughton Heavy Taper 9.3 twist - 30" + defensive edge brake
Seekins DBM
40 MOA rail
Jewell trigger
Paint - flat black/sniper gray/desert tan

Glad you are happy with it. We were both a little sceptical on the paint colors, but it turned out to be a really nice combo.

that is a beauty and I don't like camo paint job but this one is awesome. I am in the process of having an edge built also and I might copy your rig as a form a flattery to yours.

just got done shooting the rifle from 700-1000. This rifle is a hammer. 5 shots prone at 1000 could be covered by my hand. It's running 6.8 MIL to 1k with the 300 smk's and 93.3 gr H1000.

I don't have any pics of the target because I was helping teach a shooting school, and shortly after I banged the steel, about 13 others took cracks at it. Got a fresh coat of paint on it before I left, so I hope to put 5 or 10 rounds on it when I get back there in the morning before everyone else shoots it.

It definitely drew a crowd when I was shooting it.... was almost boring at 1k because it was so easy to make hits in the switchy winds. And man does it pound that steel out at 1k. Definitely harder than my 338LM...

Congrats on the rifle, looks great.
I have the same setup on an HS stock that weighs 12.5# all up w/ NXS on it.
These are great rigs that Travis builds.

Sounds like she is behaving for you then. It does get boring at 1k with the Edge's. They are incredibly consistent. BTW, try the 300 Berger if you have any with the same powder charge .010" off the lands. Shoots a little faster and is REALLY accurate. Had a chance to shoot them in mine yesterday while breaking in a couple other rifles. Same point of impact at 100, but alot different at 1k. They will need to be single fed though, but as accurate as they are, that is not a big deal at all.

I think David is gone on his hunting trip. This one has a 3 round mag and I have 5 round mags available also.
