Gunsmithing R700 bolt handle repair

My search-foo is weak. I have the ability to have it silver-soldered back on, but is there a better solution to this issue?

What I do with all 700 handles that are going to be used hard is mill a 1/4" hole through the handle to the body then hit it with a quick mig puddle weld and then dress up, a 20 minute deal and no welds seen.
