Hey everyone. I've been lurking for a while and now think it's time to post.

I have recently took an interest in target shooting, been a hunter for years and just need Agnew rifle to tackle both jobs. I hunt deer and sometimes moose when I go back home but mostly like to target shoot.

I want to put together a nice, well shooting gun to take to the ragne and also take hunting. I've decided on .308 due to it's versatility butwant some input on stocks and optics. I was thinking the mcrees percision stock with the tmag option and a leopold variable power scope. Does this seem fine? Also, I like a heavier bull barrel so which stock Remington should I start with?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I am thinking a 5R in 308 is your best bet. That will allow you to shoot some of the heavier bullets. I think Remington is also offering one of the SPS versions with a faster twist rate than the 5R.

As for stocks, many will work, but if it were me and I was looking for a target / hunting combination stock, I would look at the Manners MCS-T. Very solid for both applications.
