I was at the range today and I finally decided that my LWRC 5.56 isn't making me happy. It has been amazingly reliable, but it just doesn't put the bullets close to each other. It seems to be a 1.75-2 moa gun at its best.

I am looking at the Rainier and a Noveske 18" SPR 5.56mm Upper with VIS.

What do you think?

Thanks.

Are you looking for a varmint type tack driver? Rainier barrels are Shilen blanks, they're pretty reputable. Lija makes some nice prefit barrels as well as Krieger too. I would imagine Novesk makes a pretty accurate barrel also. Probably couldn't go wrong with either.

I don't necessarily want a "varmint" gun, just an accurate one. I find that I have much more fun at the range when I know the large groups are b/c of me and not the gun.
The reason I was looking at the Rainier and the Noveske is that it looks like both companies have uppers in stock and ready to roll. My need for instant gratification runs deep.

Another one to consider is the LMT MRP get the 16 stainless. This is a big improvement to the platform. The ability to pull the barrle in seconds for cleaning or changing configuration is nice.Mines very close to a moa shooter with the chrome lined 14.5 barrel.
