Really leaning towards buying a 20” ultramatch for a new precision AR15 build seeing as they are in stock and $400 seems lIke an ok price if they live up to higher end performance. I’m looking for 2 things:

1. Does anybody feel strongly about recommending something else for similar price?

2. Does anybody have a discount code for Rainier? I see their were a bunch of 10% off codes in the past but haven’t found an active one.

Thanks

I have a 16" UM with intermediate gas; it's soft shooting & easily under MOA, at least to 200 yards.

Bought it on a closeout earlier in the year for a great price.

Buy one, I think you'll be happy, but $400 is not cheap..............lots of other similar barrels for that price or less, from CLE, WOA, Craddock................but Ranier consistently has them available right now which is worth something if you need it now.

MM

I have an 18" Wylde chamber, 1-8" Ultramatch SPR profile in my Mk12 Mod1 clone. Apparently uses a Shilen ratchet rifled blank. It has been punching holes and ringing steel for me for about 12 years now. I load it with 23.5gr 8208 under a 75bthp in LC brass. Good for 2750fps.

....the UM barrels have had good reports, along with the occasional "less than" report, but more good reports. But, I have to agree with one of the earlier posts, for $400 you have alot of options to get a barrel made from one of the PREMIER tubes. I would suggest you check out the offerings from Compass Lake Engineering, they have a wide assortment of AR barrels made from Bartlein, Douglas, Krieger & Criterion tubes. CLE is a well established and highly regarded producer of match barrels used in Service Rifle Competition. Check out their "Ready To Ship" section on their web page ---->>> https://compasslake.com/

Satern barrels shoot, but their customer service is terrible. Bought a barrel from them with an out of spec chamber. Taper was cut wrong on their reamer. Tight at the shoulder, loose at the base. Their solution was just stuff another reamer into it to clean up the shoulder. Still a couple thousandths oversize at the base.
Plenty of reputable company’s to buy from without risking that kind of BS.

Not sure where you guys are finding sub 400 dollar Bartlein, Douglas, Krieger, Criterion and Craddock barrels at, but I'd love to know that. Not only are they more expensive, you're looking at either out of stock, or 5 month wait times.

Anyone know where I could get a 400 dollar 16" stainless 6.5 grendel barrel w/ .750 gas block seat and a medium contour from Bartlein, Douglas, Krieger or Criterion at today?

Hi all, sorry for reviving somewhat of an old thread. I'm thinking of purchasing either one, or two Rainier Ultramatch MOD2 barrels in .223 Wylde to upgrade some of my rifles and was wondering if anyone has any current Rainier coupon codes? The coupon codes listed previously in this thread (such as padom10) are no longer valid and the Rainier Summit membership I just purchased for $100 frankly doesn't offer all that great of a discount, so a current coupon code sure would help. Thanks!

Only thing is it

it says 400$ on the link

Has anyone found out who makes the mod 2 blanks yet ?
I think we all know mod 1 was Shilen blanks.
I'm thinking they are PacNor, but can't prove it (I have one or two laying about).
Regardless, some very nice machine work on these things.
It'd just be nice to know for sure who makes the blanks.

Yea, I've posted it many times. Straight from the horses mouth....they are Criterion blanks and Craddock does them for Rainier

Just ordered their 22" 6mm Arc barrel. I'll report back on the results. I'm expecting 1/2 minute or better with specially manufactured super-match grade ammo (my reloads). Will report back in two weeks.

Also not a great time to try to buy 6mm arc brass atm. Seems everyone is out of stock. Might have to buy 5 boxes of Hornady match to get some brass to start.
