Im looking for a decent range finder under 500. I dont mind used, so thats an option too. I noticed that some RF'ers are spec'ed at longer ranges then what the actually work at. Im looking to reach out to 1k yards, sooner or later. So thats why Im here, looking for real world usages.

Re: Range finder around ~500?

I am VERY pleased with the Bushnell Elite 1600 ARC monocular. I also had the Bushnell Elite 1600 Fusion bino's and they were good as well.
Compared to the Lieca 1200 I had, the Bushnell's would range farther and more consistently.

I can range to a mile with it with out much problem.

Under your $500 price if you shop around. Look here: http://www.amazon.com/Bushnell-Elite-160...6357&sr=8-1

I just got a Bushnell Elite 1600 ARC monocular as well. It is really nice, clear, and accurate. I am very pleased with it. Got mine from Optics Planet via Amazon.

+2 for the Bushnell Elite 1500 or 1600 range finder.
rugged, looooong battery life, fairly quick, i have ranged out to 813 with no bipod, and 1250+ with bipod.
good price point as well.
going on 4 years still works great!
