I've got between $250-$350 to spend on a range finder. Want to be able to range a berm/hill out to 1000 yards. What's my best bet? Leupold 1200i, Vortex, other?

Bushnell ConX, I have ranged IPDA And 66% targets to 1000yards with the ConX. Brownells runs deals on them and you can apply discount codes. I got mine for $252. There are a bunch of good threads about the ConX in the Observation Devices Section

I've used and liked the Vortex Ranger 1500. It's on sale at Cabela's right now for $329.

Good luck,

Harry

PS-I'm considering a SigSauer Kilo 2400ABS to replace my Vortex Ranger 1500, which I sold.

I too got a conx and for the 259 I got it for I think it's hard to beat. It's a bit bigger than my old leupold that fit in my palm but it gets hits at 1k more consistently than the leupold.

I've had good experiences with the Sig Kilo line. Started with a 2000 and was immediately impressed with the speed and accuracy compared to my Zeiss and Bushnell units.
I recently picked up a 2400ABS during the Midway $1100 dollar deal and I'm simply amazed with it's performance.
First-round hits on targets at 700, 770, 830 and 890 yards with 1200' altitude change. I managed to easily range a steel plate at a mile in rolling forest and scare the hell out of it, but no hits... Wind was all over the place and I'm not that good- yet! My Bushnell rangefinding binos wouldn't even give me a return at that distance.
