Quick Range report for you: Hornady American Gunner 140GR BTHP has been my load of choice for my B14HMR for the last 600 rounds, overall I really like the round and think it is the best bang for my buck. It generally shoots between 1MOA and .75 on paper at 100 yards.

Usually out of my B14 my MV is average of 2630FPS. With this MV my dope for 1008 yards is usually 9.7 mils of elevation.

Yesterday I was out shooting 1008 yards and noticed that most of my rounds were going right over the target with my 9.7 DOPE which had been dead on during several previous range sessions at this very distance/target. I was perplexed and after some time we re chronographed the ammo. This was a new 200 round can that I was shooting and we determined that average MV was around 2700 FPS or nearly 70 FPS higher than my previous lots of the same ammo. Once I adjusted my kestrel with the new MV my dope showed 9.4 mils and I was again dead on at 1008 yards.

Just wanted to share in case this helps anyone. Curious as to your thoughts if maybe you have had similar experiences. The lesson for me was to re chrono if I start to see consistent changes in elevation in comparison to previous dope. Ultimately I still really like this ammo but this was a learning experience.

I also have had good luck with the American Gunner. Bought a few of the ammo cans of it when Sportsmans had it on sale.

Last time I shot them out of my RPR I had a 15 shot average of 2633 with an SD of 13.7.

Sounds like my current batch is just a bit hotter than usual, still good ammo, hence why the chrono should always be handy!

My first 200 case was the same out of my Tikka. Second 200 round case was more like 1"-1.5". Then swapped to a PVA 26" barrel with same results for the second batch as the tikka barrel just faster.
from 7.1.20 five rounds over magneto speed at noon and very hot day with warm barrel:
PVA 26"
ave 2744
high 2754
low 2727
sd 10
es 27

will shoot the rest of it and see if it is still the same. But when I shout a 5 round group of .33" with Prime it makes it hard to want to shoot the gunner.

I've been shooting this for well over a year now with very good success.

Usually my 5 round groups @ 100 yards measure between 0.5-0.75 MOA. Sometimes they go as low as 0.3 MOA.

Was the best value out there for 6.5 CM. I was paying 80 cents per round buying it in the 200 round plastic can. It hasn't been in stock for the last three weeks anywhere. I just bought a can of it for $190 shipped to me. This is a $30 rise. Still a good value but not a bargain. Hope it is a short term bubble

I can still pick it up locally for $149/200. But it’s not as easy to find as it was before the word got out. I have chrono’d lot #3194483 and #3193931 with the following results:
Rem 700-2697 & 2712
Howa HCR-2684 & 2695
SD runs around 8-14. Both have 24” barrels. Accuracy has been great. Usually around .6-.75 moa. I have shot it out to 585yds and plan on using it at Franks class in Iowa this summer. FYI 41.5grs of H4350 in the Hornady case is an almost exact duplicate FPS wise.

so far that has been my go to ammo even though Its getting much harder to find at lower cost as they all keep just going up and up . I have to admit I liked it a lot more when it was 139.00 per 200 lol .

At $140 per 1000 shipped I would never handload. I have bought a few thousand at this price. Considering they went up, I am purchasing all the equipment to handload. Great ammo but I am not paying $1 per round for it.

I am also looking into handloading partially for this reason!

This exactly. At $149 for 200 it was so cheap and consistent I wasn't bothering to reload.

Running around 2650fps.

I recently picked up a 200rd box locally and used them to site in the new AX for a 100yrd zero. They seemed consistent and produced tight groups. I’ll need to shoot them more to draw real conclusions but initial results even out of a new gun are positive.

I have had pretty good results out to 1200 with this ammo, ELDM is definitely better if you want to get out closer to a mile.

Yes...the 140gr Horn. AG did ok.

I'm trying to remember which factory load I shot to 1200yds. I will come to me.

This stuff grouped way better than the premium hunting ammo I was sighting in with. Decent price and good groups at 100. A cheap baseline ammo for further testing

For those of you that stretch this ammo out, what size target should I try and shoot with it?

I only have a 12x12 square, which I find to be ok if I'm shooting 1000Y with quality match ammo.
However, I don't have access to that spot where I had 1000 yards. Now I found a spot where I can shoot but it's sub 1200 yards. If I remember correctly, it is somewhere close to 1120Y. I'm thinking I'll need a bigger target. Should I just go full ipsc? Maybe 18" circle will do? Thoughts...
