A while back when talking about the 284 some of you guys said to keep you posted on how the gun shot when I got it.
During inital load testing the 162AMAX and H4350 seemed to be the load it liked. I had three or four loads that all shot .5s @ 100yds.
I took it out last night and shot it at 400yds with several of those loads to see how they did at longer ranges. The first group with 52.5grs of H4350 went into a 1.410" group. The second load of 51.5grs of H4350 and the Berger 168s went into a 1.292" group.
I had tried a load of 51 and 52 but quit when the 3 shot groups was around 3"s I was running out of time and didn't want to get the gun to hot. I decided to shoot it at 600yds with the 52gr load just to get some data on my dials so I could run a sheet off of JBM and have something to go by.
I shot the 52gr load because it had put two within an inch of each other @ 400 with a flyer @ 2+"s to the left making it around 3"s when I quit shooting it at 400.
I dialed in 12MOA and shot the group at 600yds and went down to see where it hit and about shit when I seen a 1.345" group at 600yds!!!! I have decided the limiting factor on this rifles accuracy will be ME!!
Needless to say I am very happy with my new 284!!
