Suppressors Range test with new TBAC 30P-1

Took my new can out to test today on my .308 Savage 10BAS/K 24" 1:10 twist. Had to re-zero due to scope removal and new butt stock, so I can't tell you if any chage in POI. Took (2) rds to set zero. Used FFGM 168 gr SMK for test @ 100yd.

First 3 .4 MOA
next 3 .3 MOA
next 3 .4 MOA (checked can if loose,slight) Let cool
next 3 .3 MOA
next 3 .25 MOA
Last 3 .7 MOA (1) flyer (wind picked up to 20-25mph)

I was very impressed with sound reduction sounded a little less than a 22LR. Thanks TBAC for a very well made can!

In my opinion it doesn't matter if you shoot 3,5,even 10 round groups, If you can repeat it on a regular basis I will call it good for me, it might not be for you and that's ok with me.

I have put 300 rounds through my TBAC 30P. I love it. Last weekend in April did a shoot with it. Had steel out to 800, it was flawless. My ability on the other other hand to bang steel on every shoot out at 800 not so much. If i can figure out how to post a vid on the board i have some of shooting the 30P-1. Glad you like the TBAC, they are addictive, so is steel shooting. bang-Ping, great way to spend the day,

TBAC makes great cans. I'll have a 30p and a 223P in stock this week to test. I'll only be missing their 22lr cans and 338lp. But I don't have a 338lp to shoot, Yet!!! 

I was visiting with Shane of TBAC on Friday and they were putting out some new Muzzle brakes for their 338s and ones that will allow users to add them to a .30, but not the other way around. pretty nice set up.

Had my 338P for about 3 mo. now and have set about 150 rounds down the tube with it and it is just as good as my 30P-1. I was glad to get the muzzle break off of the thing, just stirred up to much stuff. It's like shooting my .308 and just as quite. Also tried myn 30P-1 on my P-308 and just what I was hoping for ... no issues!
Again I'm not for giving kudo's to folks but... when they desrve it and Shane,Ray, and Zak sell and make a great product.

I've had great results with my 30P-1 and I really like it. I highly reccomend Thunderbeast suppressors.

Missouri passed House Bill 294 (HB294) two weeks ago and it is sitting on Governor Nixon's desk awaiting his signature. One of the provisions within the law will be to; "Allow a person to possess, manufacture, transport, repair, or sell a machine gun, short-barreled rifle or shotgun, or firearm suppressor if he or she complies with federal law."

I am going to put one on a 270WSM. I thought there would be more of them out there with real world experience also. Maybe there is but they are not on this site. I have a thread posted asking about 22-250 and 243 using this unit and I have one reply and lots of crickets. LOL

RayDog from Thunder Beast here. I've got lots of rounds through a 30p1 on a 7wsm. It sounds good and super accurate. I've had the same can on a 300 wsm for a few hundred rounds. Not my gun but I pulled the trigger a bit. Shooting the 190 smk at 3150 I was ringing steel at 1500 plus

.260 is the second most popular caliber to shoot through the 30P-1 and it's what all three of us compete with. Ray and Shane just came in 1st and 2nd at the Steel Safari shooting .260 through 30P-1 and 30BA cans. (I couldn't shoot for score due to being match director). Roughly over half the shooters used cans and I think the 30P or 30P-1 comprised all but three of those.

In any case, .260 is quieter than .308 through the 30P-1.

Hey,

I think we have some customers shoot .22-250 through the 30P-1, but it's not a caliber we shoot very often ourselves. Based on the performance of .243 and .260 (and 6.5x47) through the 30P-1, I would expect it to be even quieter. Many people believe the silencer aperture has to match the bore aperture (plus some slop) to have good suppression, but this is not really the case. A smaller aperture would catch more gas, sure, but the bulk of the gas is caught by the baffle stack as along as it's not excessively big (like a .45 aperture on a .22).

The 30P-1/30BA works really well on just about anything centerfire up to .300 Win Mag. I shoot my 30P-1 extensively on 7mm Rem Mag and it works great.

I just bought my 3rd TBAC suppressor(a second 30P-1) I will be trying it out on a GAP Valkyrie in .260 that I picked up this week-end (I hope).

I got to take my(New to me) GAP Valkyrie .260 out to the range to zero the scope,test my 30P-1, and fire my first 20rds through the thing. I must say this rifle was such a pleasure to shoot and the can worked as I thought... flawless for my first time behind the trigger and with some thrown together reloads 139 sceaners and H4350(Q/L estimations) I think it performed pretty good. (4)5 shot groups best .248" worst .321"

next time I go out I will try to get some ound comparisons on the .260 & .038 with the 30P-1 and the .338LM with the 338P.

Tried out a 30P1 last week...Had a full 2MOA shift up.
402, you mentioned not shifting any on the savage (or at least not knowing du to rezero) but get any shift on the 260?

I dont mind shift as long as repeatable, but was surprised to have such a shift. FWIW I was shooting a GAP Rock 308 with 175smks going 2700.

Still shot great. I purchased a 30P1 and am nothing short of extactic to receive it.

I had my dope for 604 yds on, and being overly optimistic of no shift, let one fly on first shot at that distance. was way high, so I put it on paper, dialed down and had a nice clover 2moa high at 100. Didnt try for repeatability, as it not my suppressor and I had to get going, but precision did not suffer, only accuracy.

Dont care bout shift tho cause I plan to never shoot without it. But if its not repeatable, that would be a very large issue.

We've never seen a zero repeatability issue with the 30P-1 or 30BA. Ray and Shane went #1-#2 and the Steel Safari with those two cans and they get removed and replaced all the time.

DT, since you are borrowing a can, what is the owner's experience with his can? Does the +2 MOA shift follow the can from rifle to rifle, or is it just with your rifle?

Ok, so here's my input.

Every barrel acts a little different.

Harmonics, frequency, oscillation (call it what you want), of the barrel is going to change with a weight hanging off the end. It will release the projectile at a different point in it's movement causing the POI shift.

That's why no one can (beyond a guess), tell you what the POI shift will be. Most of the time it's low and around a minute. But, it can be up, down, left or right. Some have zero shift.

It is what it is and as long as it repeats that’s the best you can get.

My TRG has 1 MOA shift up with the tiny barrel Sako uses. My 7WSM and my old 308 has 0 shift and they both run M40 contours. It's repeatable with both my current rifles and other people around here that I know that have the TBACs.

When I first put my 30P-1 on my .308 savage I seen a POI change down 1/2 minute, On the .338P I seen a POI change down about 3/4 minute. I did this just as a test, since I shoot these suppressed all the time I re-zeroed both. I take my cans off after each shoot and reinstall before each shoot and I can't think of how many times this sequence has happened but so far the repeatability has been spot on. Until my second 30P-1 gets approved the first one is being used on (3) different rifles (1)semi and (2) bolts! I will test repeatability on the .260 tommorrow but I'm not expecting a problem. That's why I bought another 30P-1, I have no reason to look at anything else.
