Hello everyone, I am getting back into the game after a few years off and I'm sure that this subject has already been beaten to death by now. I finished my .308 RPR and I plan on trying to reach a mile at some point with my .338 lapua. With that being said, I currently do not have a rangefinder or kestrel or any ballistic calculators. I have been eyeballing the sig kilo2400abs for a long time. My question is if you guys recommend that unit? If not, what do you suggest? A budget of around $1500 is what I am looking to stay within, Is that asking too much? Or is that sufficient for my needs? Any help/advice would greatly be appreciated, thank you.

As far as the Kestrel goes, jump on one of Doug's Sportsmans (Camera Land) at $249, then upgrade it for $190. This gives you a full-boat 5700 Elite AB w/ LINK for $450-ish compared to, what, $700 I believe. Smokin' deal.
Does this include a rangefinder also? And if not, what would you suggest?

No, that's just for the Kestrel. He's got some left, too. As far as rangefinder I have a Vortex Ranger 1800. It's all I know, but it is dead nuts accurate out to 1000 yards on our KD range, so I am happy with it. That Kestrel deal is exceptional, though.
Is the kestrel deal better than the one built into the sig? And I would like to range to a mile at some point. Thank you for the reply's btw.

We can also assist with a Rangefinder.

I got that same deal from camera land too. Great deal!

That leaves you about a grand for a range finder. I've been extremely happy with my SIG kilo 3000, especially compared to the kilo 2k I was using before. There are lots of options for range finders in the $1000 range, so do your research, but when I did my research I picked the kilo 3k and couldn't be happier for the price. I get instant ranges at a mile on hillsides and our steel, and no complaints further out. That's all handheld too, not from a tripod.

Hey Doug, I don’t see the Kestrel and upgrade on your website only the scope/ Kestrel combo, is this still available?
