Look at around 1 min. 25 seconds. There is a guy standing behind a tree, car crashes into that tree, and after the dust clears he is still there. That had to be a strange feeling! How did they ever talk guys into driving in those races?

Back in the '50s and early '60s my dad drag raced. He competed in Sportsman's class driving a '49 Ford 2 door body with various 6 cylinder motors in it.
Watching tapes of crashes like that I really understand why that model body is so rare- among others.

Absolutely insane. I love how many seem to hop up afterwards. Bet they felt it the next day. I do wonder how many died from the ejections.
