Those used to go for ~50k$ if I recall correctly. Very nice, one of my many favorites from the Germans.

This rare Rheinmetall German FG42, Second Model machine gun from the Stern collection sold for $149,500 at Julia's part of over 200 rare IIIs that went up. In writing an answer for somebody else on another thread here, I thought, wow somebody would probably like to see this one. What an auction.

Dovetail mounted quick release optics on a battle rifle in WWII. Flip up back up iron sights. Integral bipod. Semi auto fire closed bolt. Full auto from open bolt. Magazine dust cover. Muzzle brake. Integral spike bayonet This rifle was nuts for the time.
Very cool pics. I wish more people would take more pics of these. Especially fully disassembled.

Wow! That is something special! Those nazis were crazy as hell but came up with some gear that was ahead their time. Thanks for sharing.

Sweet. My two smaller kids as well as their big brother can quote every spec on that particular rifle as accorded by Jane's Guns and every other source they have gleaned on it

thats true ! on History channel > the Nazi's had the Atom bomb figured out ready to test ...BUT Hitlers scientists did not reveal this to him and deliberately delayed progress ...they themselves were so afraid of this crazy bastard having this weapon so they lied about it at risk of their own deaths ...

German company has exact copies of them and K43 and Stg44 on offer.
These are exact duplicates right down to the metallurgy and finish.
They were on display at IWA last year and the gun trade where all over them like flies on poo.
